Description: Urus is a boy who was born deaf. He is about to be culled - branded as someone unworthy of being a warrior. He attempts to take his own life but in the process he uncovered a power hidden deep within himself. This power could be the only thing that can keep the world safe from an ancient evil that threatens to destroy it.

What I Think About It:
I loved it! The story was so engaging that I could only concentrate on this one book. I couldn't pick up anything else while I was reading it.
The worldbuilding was presented in such a way that it wasn't forced down the reader's throats. I really liked that it was introduced so gradually.

Character Analysis:
Urus - Although he had a handicap, Urus was such a strong character that at times I totally forgot that he was deaf. I love the hidden gifts this boy possesses.

In Conclusion: 5/5 stars. I can't wait to read the sequel!
